A local-first app and a deliberately simple website

This page describes the current BBQ Replay iPhone app and the initial website. It will be reviewed again before public launch and whenever the product changes.

For this prelaunch version, the app and website operator is identified as BBQ Replay.

App data stays on your device

BBQ Replay stores food and equipment profiles, cook plans, readings, events, notes, outcomes and attached cook photos locally on your iPhone. Version 1 does not require an account and does not depend on a network connection for core cook tracking.

Exports happen only when you choose them

The app can prepare completed and abandoned cook history for sharing through the iOS share sheet. The versioned JSON archive includes terminal cook records and their child timelines. The CSV file is a session summary. Active cooks and reusable profile libraries are outside version 1 export.

Local cook photo files and their attachment metadata are not included in version 1 JSON or CSV export. The app makes that exclusion visible before sharing.

Photos are user initiated

The camera opens only after you choose to take a cook photo. The photo library picker provides only the image you select. The app copies the chosen image into its own local storage and keeps an explicit unavailable state if the file later cannot be read.

The initial website does not track visitors

This site adds no product analytics, advertising pixels, session replay, newsletter form or marketing cookies. It does not create a BBQ Replay account or user profile. The hosting provider may process standard request information needed to deliver, secure and operate the site under its own service terms.

Email support

If you email support, your email provider and the BBQ Replay mail provider process the message and address needed to reply. Do not include sensitive personal information or private cook notes that are not needed to explain the issue.

Cooking guidance boundary

Time, temperature and phase information is advisory. BBQ Replay does not determine food safety or doneness. Verify both independently using appropriate guidance, your equipment and your own judgement.
